Community Safety and Route 9W
Resident Lindsay Lannon presented a new initiative called Safe9W, a public information campaign aimed at improving safety along Route 9W after multiple fatal accidents. The plan includes compiling crash data, police reports, and NYSDOT records into a website to advocate for state-level improvements. The Board expressed support and discussed forming a committee to collaborate with the school board and DOT.

Recreation and Community Events
- The first Concert in the Park had a strong turnout. In response to resident concerns, ADA-accessible parking is being updated with help from the Highway, Recreation, and Police Departments.
- The Recreation Committee continues to be praised for successful community programming.
- Meet Me in Marlborough is hosting networking events for local businesses, with upcoming activities including a flea market, bounty festival, and holiday farmers market.
Parks and Capital Projects
- The Board approved funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for major lighting and field improvements at Young’s Park and Cluett Schantz Memorial Park, with a SEQRA review confirming no environmental impact.
- At the July 28 meeting, Supervisor Corcoran confirmed that the pickleball court project at Cluett Schantz has started. Three new benches were donated to Milton Landing Park.
- An Eagle Scout project was approved to build 4–6 raised tent platforms at Cluett Schantz to reduce flooding and improve camping conditions. The Town and local officials pledged material donations and site prep support.
Solar and Energy Savings
The Board approved a solar panel project for the Community Center. Total cost is $192,696, with grants covering most of it. The Town’s net expense is about $63,000, expected to be recouped within 10 years through reduced electric bills. The panels will be installed on the back of the building to preserve its appearance.
Public Health
Dr. Eve Walter, Director of Ulster County Department of Health, outlined county services available to Marlborough, including immunizations, restaurant inspections, emergency preparedness, and chronic disease prevention programs. She noted recent inspections of 23 food vendors, 17 farm housing facilities, and 2 mobile home parks in Marlborough. The county is also conducting a community health needs assessment.

- The Board appointed summer camp counselors for the 2025 season.
- The Board accepted the resignation of Police Dispatcher Jenna Galasso.
- Caden Cabrera was appointed part-time police officer to attend the Ulster County Police Academy.

- Residents Jeffrey and Paula Gliedman praised the Highway Department for repair work on the Old Post Road bridge following a fatal accident, noting the cost savings achieved by in-house work.
- Resident Danielle Broza spoke about harassment and misinformation circulating about her family’s property, stressing they plan to host community activities like camps and sports, not large-scale disruptive development. Her attorney entered a clarifying letter into the record to address rumors.
